I used to be in your shoes…

Since I was a little girl, I had tried every fad diet in the book. I was always the heavier girl growing up with thick thighs and a booty before it was ‘trendy’ to have thick thighs and a booty. I felt like foods I loved were forbidden if I wanted to lose weight which made it really hard to stick to a program and find success. I would stop attending social events with my friends because of my diet, deprive myself of the foods I loved and ate foods I didn’t enjoy. I never listened to what my body intuitively needed. I would aim to follow a program 100% just to fall off and tell myself the old “I’ll restart on Monday.” I was stuck on the hamster wheel, which may sound all too familiar to you.

I associated food with weight loss and not as fuel for my body to function optimally. My relationship with food always had its ups and downs over the years, but through it all, it always came down to restriction. Practicing in the field of nutrition for over five years, this has always been the main trend I notice with clients which prevents them from reaching their weight loss goals.

It wasn’t until I attended the University of Western Ontario that I decided to make a lifestyle change. I started to create healthier versions of the foods I loved, ate intuitively in moderation and that is how it finally stuck. I successfully dropped 30 pounds and kept it off for good. This led me to dedicate my career as a Registered Nutritionist, specializing in Type 2 Diabetes. I am obsessed with motivating people to feel amazing, reach their weight loss goals, reverse troubling health conditions and become the happiest, healthiest, glowing versions of themselves.
